Board Certified Forensic Psychologist
Megan N. Carter, PsyD, ABPP graduated with her master’s degree in applied social psychology from Portland State University before completing another master’s degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology, with an emphasis on forensics, at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. In 2014, Dr. Carter became board certified in forensic psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) and is a diplomate of the American Academy of Forensic Psychology (AAFP). In 2018, she received the designation of Fellow from the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA). Dr. Carter worked as a forensic evaluator completing annual review evaluations of sexually violent predators, at the Special Commitment Center (SCC), Washington’s sexually violent predator facility from 2008 to 2022. Over the last few years, she has focused on forensic issues specifically related to fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) and youthfulness.
She currently maintains a private practice focusing on forensic evaluations and child welfare issues.
